I think people think that the cars interface should be like an iPad, but they do not fully consider how much mental distraction an iPad interface could be. After a few weeks, I have intuitively figured out the one touch buttons that I need, and I use the menu driven interface for the rest. I feel that this minimizes the distraction most of the time, while once in a while I do have to get through a couple of menus for more obscure options. When you are in a car for more than an hour a day, it is OK (IMO) to have a reasonable learning curve.
